Bathrooms are basically torture chambers for electronics. You’ve got steam everywhere, random water splashes, and temperature swings that would make a thermostat dizzy. If you just throw a standard heater in there, it’s going to burn out or short circuit. Fast. That’s why we built our infrared heaters to actually survive the environment.
Why your mirror fogs up (and how we stop it)
It’s a simple physics problem: warm, wet air hits a cold piece of glass, and boom—you can’t see your face. To fix this, we tucked short-wave infrared emitters right behind the mirror. They kick in and warm the glass surface up quickly, pushing it past that “dew point” where fog lives. Instead of wiping the mirror with a towel and leaving streaks everywhere, you just have a clear view. It’s a much better way to start your morning.
Keeping the water out
Water and electricity are a terrible mix, especially when you’re standing in a shower. We didn’t think a plastic cover was enough. Instead, we used high-grade silicone seals and moisture-resistant gaskets at every single connection. It’s all about keeping the guts of the machine dry. We also pay a lot of attention to the IP rating—which is really just a fancy way of saying “how much of a beating can this thing take from a splash?” We use corrosion-resistant alloys for the housing too, so you don’t have to worry about rust eating through the frame if you live in a humid area or near the coast.
Finding the sweet spot for heat
Now, you might think “more power equals better,” but it’s not that simple. If we cranked the wattage too high in a small mirror, we’d risk cracking the glass or melting the adhesive holding everything together. Not ideal. We spent a lot of time balancing the heat so the glass stays crystal clear, but it doesn’t feel like a heating pad against your forehead. One quick tip: check your bathroom’s wiring. These heaters pull a decent amount of power when they first kick in. If your circuits are old or undersized, you might trip a breaker. It’s worth a quick look before you install them.
