
Getting Your Wafer Curing Right: It’s All About the Reflection
When you’re curing wafers, you need heat. But you don’t just need “heat”—you need it to hit the surface exactly right, every single time. Most people look at the reflector and see a piece of housing. I see it differently. It’s actually the most important tool in the room. If your reflector isn’t dialed in, you’re basically paying to heat up your machine’s chassis instead of your product. That’s a lot of wasted money and energy.
Making the Most of Every Ray
We focus on something called the “view factor.” In plain English? We make sure the lamp and the wafer are staring each other right in the face. By using gold-coated substrates or high-purity aluminum, we can bounce over 95% of that short-wave IR radiation straight onto the wafer. It feels like a laser focus. Fitting into the Modern Fab

The Trade-off
There is a catch, though. When you concentrate heat this intensely, your lamp’s quartz envelope takes a beating. It’s a lot of stress. You’ll want to double-check your cooling fans. Make sure they can handle the buildup around the lamp ends, or you’ll find your sockets burning out way sooner than they should. Keep them cool, and you’re golden.
